About me
Hey, I’m Isaac—and I’ve been living in Prague for about 25 years now.
I’m originally from Long Beach, California. I came here in my early twenties thinking it might be a short adventure… and somehow it turned into a life. One thing led to another, and I’ve been here ever since.
Pretty much everything I’ve done here has been connected to people and travel. I started out guiding historical walking tours, then got into running bars, and at one point even owned a youth hostel for about 10 years. So I’ve seen Prague from a lot of different angles—and met a lot of people along the way.
What I love about the Czech Republic is hard to sum up, but it’s a mix of everything: the food, the culture, the architecture… even the weather, which can be a bit all over the place. There’s also something about being right in the middle of Europe—you can go almost anywhere, and people from everywhere end up passing through here. I’ve always liked being part of that.
Over time, you get to know a place beyond the obvious stuff. Not just what’s in the guidebooks, but how things actually work, where to go, what to avoid, and the little details that make it feel real.
I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people and helping them get their bearings here—whether that’s over a walk, a meal, or just figuring out what to do next. For me, it’s never really felt like “work,” just something I’ve naturally fallen into over the years.
If you end up spending time with me, my goal is pretty simple: help you see Prague in a way that feels relaxed, genuine, and a bit more personal than just ticking things off a list.
How I work
The easiest way to think about it is this: you’re not joining a tour—you’re spending time in Prague with someone who’s been living here for a long time and knows how to make the most of it.
I don’t follow fixed routes or scripts. After 25 years here, I’ve learned that everyone’s looking for something a little different. Some people want history and architecture, others prefer museums, good food, or just a relaxed walk with a few nice stops along the way. We figure that out together and build the day around it.
I’m just as happy wandering through the city as I am getting out of it. If you’d like to see more of the Czech Republic, we can drive out to the countryside, visit smaller towns, or find places you probably wouldn’t come across on your own.
I also take care of the practical side of things—making restaurant reservations, planning the timing so the day feels smooth, and making sure you’re not stuck waiting in lines or rushing from place to place. Nothing complicated, just making it all easier.
We go at your pace. If something catches your interest, we stay a bit longer. If not, we move on. No pressure, no rigid schedule.
More than anything, I want you to feel comfortable—like you’ve got someone local looking out for you, showing you around, and helping you enjoy the city without overthinking it.
By the end, if it feels like you’ve really experienced Prague rather than just “seen it,” then I’ve done my job.
